It is now fully up to date after four days of updates, but today when I open Word it works for about 2 minutes and then crashes. No error report. Just shuts down. I have searched for a solution and tried everything suggested on the Microsoft Answers page – there was a suggestion changes to the Normal.dotm template (by adding words to the custom dictionary or defining Auto Text entries) made the program unstable – but even removing the Normal template did’t fix the problem. I’m now at my wits end. I have to use Word for compatibility with people I’m working with who are PC users. Files are stored on my Mac hard drive.

If it is (1), that's fine I guess [and do you know which version a fix is planned?]. If it is (2) that doesn't really sound like there is much chance of a fix any time soon! Thanks for the clarification. Hi David, Apologize for that I didn't explain more clearly.

With this license, I get five installs, whether I want to use them on Macs, Windows systems, iPads, or my Windows Phone is up to me. Very nice improvement over the Mac license as completely separate from a Windows license. To proceed, I’ll click “Install >”.

IWork is just a giant stick that Apple uses to smack Microsoft whenever they feel the version of Office available for iOS or OS X is less than it should be. Apple doesn't actually want to make productivity software - they just want to make sure that what their users can install is as good as what their users could get on any other OS. So when Microsoft slouches on iOS or OS X, Apple releases an update to iWork so that Microsoft feels the pain when people stop using Office. Apple maximizes that pain by offering iWork for cheap or free. Without iWork, Microsoft would feel content to let OS X have a decade old version of Office with numerous features missing and a ridiculous price.

New features include 'custom dictionary' and 'exclude dictionary' support, a new search feature for online document templates and a new Macro recording feature. Outlook's improvements include networking enhancements for Exchange accounts, bug fixes and a new feature called Propose New Time. [ ] And why can't the Mac office file browser directly access Dropbox, like the iOS and Android versions can? It doesn't make sense to offer that ability on some platforms but not all. The file browser in Office 2016 for Mac forces users to take an extra, slow step to access local files as well as files stored in cloud services like iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox. Also, if Microsoft is going to force a file-browser window on users, it should at least allow multiple selection of the files it presents, so you can open multiple documents simultaneously -- as the standard OS X and Windows Open dialog boxes do. Furthermore, that Online Options button Microsoft sticks into the standard OS X Open dialog box is misleading: It simply opens the Office file browser, whose only online (cloud) options are OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, and SharePoint.

That's naughty. OneDrive for Business is a total mess Wait, there's more! OneDrive for Business doesn't work on the Mac. The app has been in public beta since January (the production version is due by 2016) and has never worked reliably. Office 2016 brings welcome uniformity by making the Mac version nearly identical to the Windows version. You can easily update your existing Windows installation but all that will do is give you the latest version. So if you’re running Office 2013, you’ll get the latest stable version of 2013.

Outlook 2016 Crashes Sending Mail If you’re finding that Outlook 2016 is crashing or freezing every time you try to send mail or Outlook 2016 for Mac won’t send email, then the easiest solution is simply to create a second identical Outlook account and then delete the first one. Here’s how to add a new account or profile in Outlook 2016. • On the setup page, click Add Account. Or you can click the Tools tab at the top of Outlook and click on Accounts: The Outlook 2016 account wizard will then start: • Select Add Account and then the account type you want – either Exchange or Office 365 to add your email account. Click Other Email to add your personal email account such as Outlook web account, Gmail, Yahoo mail etc. • Enter your account information and click Add Account.

My Excel version is 15.26 (160910) as is the rest of the Office apps (Outlook is 15.26.1 (160196)) and it updated 2-3 days ago through Microsoft AutoUpdate. I'm still on El Capitan and will be for a few days more until I can gather a bit more information on how well Microsoft and other apps cope with the new macOS. Try uninstalling Office and reinstalling it again. It might fix the issue, especially if you're downloading it from O365 website as it automatically downloads the latest version.
