Configuration Number For Outlook Expess Email With Comcast Email For Mac Desktop
The first thing you want to do is make sure that this is showing IMAP as the account type, and the second is to go in and replace your fake domain name with comcast.net. Next, type in the incoming mail server host name -- imap.comcast.net -- and your user name (the first part of your comcast.net email address).
Up-vote this article if you want this feature in the future (comment if you have an opinion on the topic)! Though I can appreciate the desire for folks to integrate ProtonMail into their existing clients, I’m wondering if perhaps it would be preferable for there to be a dedicated ProtonMail app instead which integrates the double-layer of security upon which this platform is built. Also, though I am by no means an expert, I think existing e-mail clients aren’t (yet) built to support multiple layers of authentication, which is another reason to continue pushing the envelope by developing a dedicated client (which could, of course, then provide guidance for improving existing e-mail clients by the companies who make them). 🙂 Thanks for what you’re doing, my friends! As much as I understand the requests for integration/ access/ compatability with third party applications, I hope that the ProtonMail team keeps true to their double encryption philosophy. After all, that is one of the major things which makes ProtonMail so awsome. And, let’s be honest, if somebody feels that the 2 password entry is a pain, they should perhaps ask themselves whether they’re with the right email provider to begin with.
1 Start Outlook, click the File tab and click in the category information Account Settings 2 Click in the tab Email on New. 3 Switch on Server Settings and click Next.
This makes NO sense HMR – I’m afraid this is completely off topic, and I can’t follow what you may be talking about. Does you comment have something to do with Comcast hosting your website? If so, you’ll have t ocontect them, or use the “Ask Scott” in the menu on the left of this blog. Computer Junkie – It MAY be that your webhost just has not enabled port 587 for you yet. Give them a buzz, because it should work fine.

It is my Primary Microsoft Account address. It used to be a POP3 account, I recently switched it to a IMAP account through Comcast's IMAP BETA program. My Surface, Windows Phone, and Outlook 2010 on my PC are all configured to sync with Comcast's server (IMAP) w/o issue. I have an Outlook.com account that is linked to the original Comcast.net account when it was a POP3 account. I would like to configure the Outlook.com account to sync with the Comcast.net (IMAP) account/server now but don't see any options to do so. Is this possible? And if so how?
Click on the close button. You will be prompted to save your changes, click “Save.”. Comcast hosts our website & we have 4 emails with that domain name. Since comcast’s migration we haven’t had a day without issues.
To Create a Comcast email account, one must be subscribed to XFINITY internet. They will have a username and password in time of subscription. You can create up to six email accounts per connection.
For outgoing mail server, type in smtp.comcast.net as your host name, and type in both your user name and password again. Tap Next, and Mail will attempt to verify your account. Once it has, you get the opportunity to select which accounts you wish to sync with comcast.net -- my iOS devices suggested Mail and Notes. I turned off Notes and just synced Mail, then tapped Save. Now you'll see the Comcast IMAP account in your list of email accounts, but we're not done yet. We need to make sure that our settings are correct for the servers.

That is not true, - all of my emails that I ready and trash, then delete from trash on my iphone, are still pulling thru on my windows mail on desktop and mail on ipad. This did not happen iwth the same settings on my iphone 4 and it was a POP server with comcast also. I want to be able to delete 'junk' email during the day on my phone, then NOT have that junk pull thru on windows mail on my desktop. YOur reply says that will happen, but it will still be on the 'server' - I NEVER log in to comcast.net, so i really dont care what is there, except that if it is still there it will pull thru on all my other devices and computers. I have the same problems and nothing seems to resolve it.
So, I reset the 995/465 and checked the SSL’s. Then I could not send or receive.

I am about 24 hours into it with no resolution. I have 3 pcs on a secure wireless network here, each with up to date security software. One tech support rep said “more than 100” emails had emanated from my connection, and I asked them for the IP address of the offending machine, but I don’t think he had a clue what I was talking about. I wish I had seen this blog before I called Geeks on call. I am in the DC/MD area. I tried working with two Comcast techs on Live Chat. One tech had me switch to port 587 but gave me no reason why.
Reaching the account through Outlook Express on a PC has worked perfectly. There is something about the fact that I'm trying to talk to the Comcast servers from a Mac running OS X Lion that is not working, not even at the most basic Telnet level. By successfully creating an account that works, you showed that you could get it to work.
We are in Tucson, AZ so if anyone has some suggestions on how I can get my business email account to send from my Outlook 2003, I would be forever grateful. I would say email me direct but I currently dont have a way to respond!
